Instead, it just felt like an Airbnb they rented for a week. It didn't feel like a house they would come to every summer. The thing that irked me was that there wasn't any feeling toward the house. She had an annoyed facial expression the whole time, which is different from her usual bright personality.
Summer wasn't blonde enough and her character wasn't interesting as it was in the books. I see why they wanted Steven to have a love interest, but I wished they would just introduce Shayla and show some tension between them and grow their relationship further along the series. I only cared about Belly and wanted to skip the other scenes, especially those with Belly's mother. I felt like there were too many romances happening at the same time that distracted me from Belly. The first movie of To All the Boys I've Loved Before has that special something that the rest of the movies and this show lack.
