
She was a conservative in her politics as well as her life. She was a force in the insurance industry and helped many as they entered the business.

She held a Registered Health Underwriter and Managed Healthcare Professional designations. She was the founding President of the East Texas Association of Health Underwriters and served as Secretary on Texas Association of Health Underwriters and was a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters. She was the President of Strategies in Employee Benefits, an independent insurance agency.

She was preceded in death by her parents Winnie Viola Gaylor-Pickett and Walter Sol Pickett, her husband of 55 years Raymond Eugene Anderson, her brothers Walter Marion Pickett and Harold Lloyd Pickett, and a sister Virginia Louise Pickett Falwell Reed and four nieces.
